Marcel’s success in the travel and leisure sector might look like a pleasure cruise to an outsider. However, this former music manager at Carnival Cruise Lines credits hard work and self-study for helping him lead his crew of 17 team members from 23rd place to 3rd place among the fleet. As the global pandemic halted cruise lines, Marcel charted a new career course. He was inspired by his grandmother’s advice to always practice self-care, including skincare. “Skincare is my passion because it’s also a form of self-care,” he says. As he embarks on a new career path, Marcel looks forward to learning the science and etiquette of skincare and applying it to bring out the best in his clients. Reflecting on the scholarship’s name, he states, “Breaking boundaries in the beauty business isn’t defined by a person’s skin tone or eye color – but is about finding the beauty unique in every individual.” Watch Marcel’s video:
