The Horst Rechelbacher Foundation + Green Circle Salon Membership
In 1978, Horst Rechelbacher founded the Aveda Corporation, a global plant-based cosmetic company, & ushered a new consciousness into the world of beauty. Horst’s entrepreneurial vision is to create successful businesses in partnership with nature. As he puts it, “Business can be a solution to our planet’s crisis rather than the problem.
In partnership with Green Circle Salons (GCS) we are introducing a membership for salons, spas and barbershops to join a movement to help the salon industry reduce its environmental footprint and provide options for consumers seeking genuine green options in salon care.
Green Circle Salons’ is a movement to help the salon industry reduce its environmental footprint and provide options for consumers seeking genuine green options in salon care. Since its inception in 2009, GCS has been building a network of more than 3,400+ certified salons, schools and advanced academies throughout North America and providing them with a comprehensive pathway to financial and environmental sustainability with a green business program; including recycling and repurposing up to 95% of their beauty waste. Today, GCS diverts more than 1.8 million pounds of waste from landfill spaces and waterways in North America annually.
GCS’ mission is to keep people, the business and environment beautiful, and are a proud B Corporation with Zero Waste to Landfill certification.
