Essay:

I am passionate about helping others feel beautiful and confident. In addition, I enjoy educating men and women on the importance of good skin care and helping others reach their skin care goals. Three years ago I decided to look into getting an esthetics license so that I can turn my passion into a career. However, I had been in the finance industry for over 20 years and doing something different than what I had done most of my adult life terrified me! The thought, however, was always in the back of my mind. So I meditated and prayed about it, and finally enrolled in a program at my local community college. My inspiration board tells the story of what esthetics means to me. But more importantly it tells the story of a woman who stepped out on faith and turned my passion into a rewarding profession.

I believe in a holistic approach to skin care that focuses on the whole person-Mind, Body, and Spirit. I also feel that confidence and positive energy is essential to the healing process. Being educated in Oncology Esthetics will provide me the necessary skills to better understand how cancer treatments can affect patients and their skin care needs, as well as educate me in providing safe and effective therapies for those that are dealing with the unpleasant side effects of cancer and cancer treatments. Finally, being trained in Oncology Esthetics will afford me the opportunity to give to others while doing something personally rewarding.
