A close friend’s cancer diagnosis and participating in Horst Rechelbacher’s eco-entrepreneurism and wellness workshop inspired Suzanne to create Suzanne’s Organics Salon eight years ago. She focused on building a salon that would make a difference in the lives of her clients, community and co-workers while cultivating a lifestyle aligned with her values. “Certification in oncology skin and hair treatments will allow me to make a positive difference in my community,” wrote Suzanne in her essay.
Essay:
Two major events inspired the creation of my salon: my close friend Annie’s diagnosis with breast cancer at 32, and the opportunity to participate in Horst Rechelbacher’s workshop on eco-entrepreneurism and wellness. I started investigating how I could support healthy change in the salon industry; make a difference in the lives of my clients, community, and fellow co-workers; and cultivate a lifestyle that aligns with my values.
Eight years ago, I formed Suzanne’s Organics Salon to merge the creative world of beauty with an emphasis on wellness. I believe beauty comes from within and that it reflects a continuous transformation. It requires a deep commitment to a loving relationship with ourselves—an on-going effort for balance and harmony in our lives. I intend to inspire my clients and community to find all these aspects of beauty in their lives, while supporting them through the products, services, and education I offer. Many people suffering from cancer, autoimmune disorders, and chemical sensitivities appreciate our salon’s commitment to providing safer alternatives.
Certification in oncology skin and hair care treatments will allow me to make a positive difference in our community through awareness and better service for our clientele.
