Lauren Conway

Executive Director

As Executive Director of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation, Lauren Conway draws on more than a decade of experience in strategic planning, marketing communications and operations management within the beauty sector. Over the past ten years, Lauren has held a series of progressive leadership responsibilities within the Pivot Point International family, including fundraising, philanthropy and event planning. And from a practical perspective, Lauren’s background as a licensed cosmetologist and salon manager provides her with “real-world” perspective on the dynamics of the professional beauty industry.

Lauren draws on her collective beauty experiences to lead planning of the annual Beauty Changes Lives Experience and Legacy Award Dinner, two signature fundraisers for the Foundation. She also oversees scholarship operations, administration, marketing and fundraising while serving as an industry liaison with Beauty Changes Lives partners. Lauren is committed to growing the Foundation as it continues its mission to position beauty as a first-choice career.

Meghan Gentz

Communications Director

A licensed cosmetologist herself, Meghan is savvy in the art and business of beauty. The salon owner and beauty industry consultant previously served in corporate marketing and management roles with Sally Beauty Holdings, Beauty Systems Group. Meghan’s career has evolved in lockstep with communications channels and platforms transforming the beauty landscape. Her experience in digital strategy spans diverse communications channels, platforms and communities. Part communicator, part analyst, this Texan keeps her ear tuned to the voice of beauty professionals and her thumb on the pulse of the industry.

Diana Velez

Program Manager

A graduate of Aveda Institute New York, Brooklyn-based Diana gleaned salon experience at the iconic Sally Hershberger Nomad Salon in New York City. Every hairstylist has a story, and Diana has cultivated a rich background in telling the stories of others through her work with StoryCorp’s oral history projects. Her wellness work with the non-profit Lipstick Angels inspired Diana to channel the therapeutic powers of touch and introduced her to the humanitarian heart of the beauty business. With a servant’s heart, an artist’s touch and a storyteller’s gifts, Diana brings a multi-disciplinary perspective on beauty’s ability to change lives.

Jen Planck

As a master stylist, speaker and innovator, Jen has inspired millions of beauty professionals through her passionate message of mentoring one another for the greater good. Her message has touched the lives of so many, extended through her audiences of the last 25 years: a rare talent that transcends the industry. Jen has climbed the ladder of beauty industry by successfully achieving the goals of hyper demanded stylist, artistic director, platform artist and salon owner. Her earned stature as industry leader has evolved the message to the most basic foundations; we are all equal and the more you help others, the more you receive in return.

Susan Miller

Media Relations

Susan Miller manages Beauty Changes Lives’ media relations. For more than 20 years, Susan has worked with non-profit, business-to-business and business-to-consumer organizations to craft meaningful messages aligned with their target audiences. In addition to consulting on strategy and message development, Susan enjoys helping leaders effectively deliver their messages in a manner that resonates with key constituents. She is a graduate of Purdue University and lives near Indianapolis. Susan may be contacted at
